Level Two Cenote Excursions

Dos Ojos & El Pit

This pairing allows you to see the best of both "styles”of cenotes. Dos Ojos, a classic cavern cenote, takes you through a meandering, shallow path with cave formations, air domes, and light shows. El Pit, our most well-known pit cenote, is a huge, deep sinkhole with a hydrogen sulfide cloud at its base. If you time it right, particularly in summer months, you might also catch a laser beam of light that features in its most famous photos. This combo requires an Advanced certification due to depth.

This full-day excursion includes:

  • 2 dives, one at Dos Ojos and one in El Pit

  • transportation to/from the cenotes (from Playa del Carmen)

  • lunch

  • cenote entrance fees

  • private guide - unlike other shops, we do not add extra divers to your group.

Angelita & Carwash

We couldn't imagine a pairing of two more different cenotes. Angelita, a pit-style cenote, is famous for it's thick hydrogen sulfide cloud, island of sunken trees, and overall spooky environment. Carwash combines a beautiful open cenote (with the possibility of a baby crocodile sighting!) and a beautiful, shallow cavern absolutely filled with ancient cave formations. This excursion requires an Advanced certification due to depth.

This full-day excursion includes:

  • 2 dives, one at Angelita and one at Carwash

  • transportation to/from the cenotes (from Playa del Carmen)

  • lunch

  • cenote entrance fees

  • private guide - unlike other shops, we do not add extra divers to your group.

El Eden & Orquidea

Another fantastic mix - Orquidea is an ancient, pit-type cenote with mysterious green water, enormous stalactites, a hydrogen sulfide cloud, and plenty of space to explore. El Eden, a cavern cenote, is famous for its beautiful 0pen swimming area, dark and spooky cavern, light shows and fossils. If you're lucky you can even find areas with halocline here - a mix of fresh and salt water that creates and oil-and-water effect. This is an excellent choice for people who have an advanced certification but don't enjoy the idea of tight spaces - both sites feel more "open” than some other caverns. This excursion requires an Advanced certification due to the depth of cenote Orquidea.

This full-day excursion includes:

  • 2 dives, one at Orquidea and one at El Eden

  • transportation to/from the cenotes (from Playa del Carmen)

  • lunch

  • cenote entrance fees

  • private guide - unlike other shops, we do not add extra divers to your group.
